- @kazerin Ha! They did ask for “anyone of unsound mind or morals to please step forward” as we got started. Oh, the temptation! in reply to kazerin #
- @kazerin I wouldn’t dare dress as Princess Leia, though. There are some guys here in the hotel that’d be sure I was flirting with ‘em.

I remember being called over 30 years ago for jury duty while I lived in Dallas. The first day, the court officers paraded the defendants whose cases were on the week’s docket through the court and enumerated the various charges against them. Remember the scene from Blazing Saddles in which villains were being recruited and all manner of low lifes lined up for the job? It was like that. We were then asked if any of us felt any prejudice toward any of the accused. I figured if these characters weren’t guilty of the specific charges against them, they were for sure guilty of something. Needless to say my hand shot up. I, along with several others, was excused right away. I got picked for jury duty several times in Peru while I was stationed in Germany, and once for Columbus, GA while deployed for Desert Storm. Lucky me.

They can only call a person once every three years and, once one turns 70 y/o, one can automatically claim an “old age” exemption. Man I’m SO looking forward to old age!

The first case was that nasty capital murder trial where the youth minister killed his pregnant underage girlfriend. Glad I didn’t make that jury. I was excused from the second summons when I let them know I’d been summoned within the month.
Glad you lucked out of this one, Roscoe.

I’m innocent, I swear! After a DNA test, the officials let med off! After cleaning out my shorts, I was quite relieved, as you can imagine.

I believe I prefer my dreams to yours!
