“You only hit as hard as the sound effect says”
Spacebooger, fight promoter extraordinare, has set the Pre-Fight Rules, which include the stipulations that every entry needs to include: “an image from a book that is at least one-year old“, and “an onomatopoeia associated with the final blow.”
My entry this week has Santa Clause battling three mutants. Even though he’s run out of bullets and has to resort to close quarters combat, St. Nick proves he’s one tough old elf and very much up to the challenge. With a powerful left jab [CHOCK] he knocks one mutant’s head right off his shoulders; he smashes the head of another [CRAK] with the butt of his rifle; and he throws the long gun like a spear through the head of the third [SPLACK].
This fight scene comes from The Last Christmas #5 (of 5), the comic book written by Gerry Duggan & Brian Posehn, drawn by Rick Remender, inked by Hilary Barta, colored by Michelle Madsen, and carrying an October 2006 publication date from Image Comics.
