after dark – after editing with picnik
Here’s the original image, as it was uploaded from my cameraphone before editing: sharpening, and adjusting the brightness and contrast with the picnik software available at flickr.
This shot was taken from my back patio as I was enjoying a fine cigar earlier tonight.
The other big building barely seen in the lower right corner of this photo is The Granada at La Villita, where I intend to be living in a few years.

Wow. This one is phenomenal. The picture looks almost as if the scene has been woven as a tapestry or done in needle point. What cool effects you’ve rendered here!

The Tower Life Building is still using part of its Christmas lighting scheme. Those few illuminated upper stories which appear slightly grayer than the floors above and below them are actually lit with red lights. Balanced against the dark green of the tree in the photograph’s lower left, this would have provided an interesting effect. Maybe.
But it was cold out last night, and I was more interested in finishing my cigar and getting inside where it was warmer. Heh.
