about me:

Born Jan. 17, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, I spent the first quarter century of my life on this planet living, going to school, working, getting married, and starting a family: all in Northern Indiana.

The next two decades found me working primarily in Bloomington, Indiana, and primarily as a delivery driver for United Parcel Service. I retired from that career in the mid 1990s and moved to Indianapolis. That was the only sensible thing for me to do; I was spending most of my time up there, and without the shackles of a 9 to 5 job, and with no personal commitments to tie me down, (the wife having divorced me many years earlier, and the kids now grown up and gone,) it was finally time to move into the big city. Away from the tiny town and bad memories, I was able to relax and clear my mind.

Taking stock of my situation and reevaluating my priorities, I realized that half a century lived as a Hoosier was enough for me, and with the freedom of a substantial private pension, I began researching other options. The American Southwest has always fascinated me, and I began looking much more closely at South Texas. Then for a period of roughly two years I maintained two full-time residences: one in Indianapolis, IN, and the other in San Antonio, TX. Shuttling back and forth between the two every month gave me the opportunity to sample Texas living the best way: by doing it. And I decided I wanted to do it full-time.

Ending my operations in Indiana, I left that state for good in early January, 2003. This third quarter century of my life is unfolding comfortably before me as I explore hobbies, make new friends, and enjoy happy days and hauntingly beautiful nights here on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX.

And now, the adventure continues.
